The contribution of volunteers to our service is essential and highly valued. If you have a caring nature, good communication skills, a sense of humour, a few hours to spare each week and the desire to make a difference, we would love to hear from you!
People with dementia and their families can benefit greatly from the regular support of a volunteer. Volunteers can also gain from the personal satisfaction of helping someone, meeting new people, or developing experience for a particular career.
Who can volunteer?
This opportunity is perfect for people who may be looking for experience to gain employment in a caring role or to gain experience in communication, retired people that are looking to help people living with Dementia or students that are studying in Health & Social Care, Sociology or Public Services etc. Dates and hours committed to the role can be discussed at the meeting stage.
Volunteers will receive training, regular supervision and support and the opportunity to meet with other volunteers. Any costs that you incur whilst volunteering will be reimbursed.
