Vote for Buds!

We need your votes! We need your votes to secure our place in the final of the Aviva Community Fund. If we are successful the money will be used to fund further Ipad sessions for members of our Buds groups.

We currently offer Ipad sessions in one of our groups and it is an activity that is not only enjoyed but has been very beneficial to the people taking part. One member of our Queensridge group has particularly benefited from the sessions:

'During our first iPad session together TF was anxious and apprehensive, saying he "didn’t know what he was doing and wouldn’t be any good.” After a little gentle coaxing, he was moving coloured blocks around the screen, setting them in place to match the mosaic pattern the challenge required him to replicate.

The following week, as he sequenced numbers and moved segments to complete jigsaw puzzles, he commented that his hand was’t shaking as much as it usually did.

On another occasion a week or two later, TF came to the session very ‘out of sorts’. He’d had a bad start to the day and was feeling very down. After agreeing he’d still like to have a go at the iPad activity, his anxiety soon disappeared and the cognitive stimulation moved his mind into a different place.

TF has become an engaged, confident and independent user of this new technology in the space of only a few weeks. He didn’t think it was possible. He looks forward to the sessions and always asks if "we’ll do more next week." It matters for his mind and it matters for his well-being. TF is one of many, many service users who amaze us - and themselves every week. The iPad sessions provide an opportunity for success, for everyone.'

We would like to ensure that more of our groups benefit from these sessions so please register your votes using the link below!
